    On February 27, 2024 the board of directors appointed long time NACPO member Grant Thayer to the vacant Vice President position.  Grant has been a member of NACPO for over 15 years and held several board of director positions over that time including being President from 2014-2016.

    It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the recent passing of Geri Windecker on Friday, February 2, 2024. Geri had been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years. She got her start in the casino event industry working with Rick Walker of Wild Bill's Interactive Events and eventually started her own casino event company in the Seattle area, Lucky Lady Interactive Events, in addition to casino parties she also provided Murder Mystery events.

    Geri was a member of the National Association of Casino Party Operators, serving as the Board President from July 2003 through June 2005. She also served as the head of the Conference Committee for several years, finding venues, coordinating outings, and finding interesting speakers, she was a pivotal part of many of the NACPO conferences. Between sessions at the conference, she could be found rolling dem bones at the dice table of the host venue, Craps was her game! In addition to being President and Conference Chair, she also served a term as the Bylaws and Ethics chair of NACPO. Geri was a great mentor and friend. She had an infectious laugh and truly knew how to have fun and enjoy every day.

    For those of you who knew Geri, I’m very sorry for your loss, and for those of us who didn’t know her, I’m sorry for what we missed out on. She sounded like a great lady!

    As of January 30, 2024, Elaine Davidson will no longer serve as the President of the NACPO Association. Randi Lucas, former Vice President, will serve as President for the remainder of her term (July 14, 2024).

    NACPO's Recognition Committee announces the opening of entries for 2022 Recognition Awards.

    RULES

    1. All entries are due by July 1, 2023. Please submit to renee.commoncents@gmail.com.
    2. All entry/descriptions must be a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 1,000 words. Events must have taken place between AUGUST 1, 2022 & JUNE 30, 2023. Except for category E.
    3. Photos and/or video (optional – will not be returned; YouTube is an accepted form of entry)
    4. Enter as many categories as you like (one entry per category). 
    5. Entries will be voted on by the attendees.
    6. Winners will be announced, and trophies awarded at our 2023 conference in Atlantic City.

    Late in 2019, the Board of Directors crafted an update to NACPO's Mission Statement.

    A Mission Statement answers the "WHY?" question … why does NACPO exist? What needs does NACPO seek to fill? What is its "reason for being"?

    The intent of the updated statement is to clarify what NACPO is all about, and help align members on what NACPO works towards. At the same time, the Mission Statement guides understanding of what is NOT at the core of NACPO, by omitting some potential items.

    Here is the new statement as adopted by the Board:

    Since 1993, NACPO's Mission has been to elevate the Casino Party industry by helping members improve their business. By sharing information, working as a team, and finding creative solutions, members grow their business through the NACPO community. Being a NACPO member inspires customer trust and confidence that they will be working with an expert in the Casino Party industry.

    You'll be seeing this updated in the Policies and Procedures document, and referenced in other NACPO-benefit actions.
